Smeatons hit by earthquake!

On Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at 00:56:45 a magnitude 4.7 earthquake (at its epicenter near Lincoln) shook residents of the Smeatons awake. Where you one of them? If so, why not register with the site so that you can add your comments to this news article on your experience?

UPDATE:
The British Geological Survey (BGS) claim the magnitude of the earthquake was closer to 5.2.
A seismologist at the BGS, Dr Brian Baptie, said: "This is a significant earthquake for the UK and will have been widely felt across England and Wales."
The BGS also stated that it records around 200 earthquakes in the UK each year - but only about 25 of these can be felt. It also said that earthquakes of this size occur in the mainland UK around every 30 years, but are more common in offshore areas.

The main earthquake lasted 10 seconds.
There was a small aftershock which occured at 2:46 am with a magnitude of 1.8
